Welcome to VegFest 2023!

We are so excited to be back supporting your growing adventures in Borehamwood and can’t wait for our summer festival in July where we celebrate your progress over the year, and of course take part in a variety of competitions.  The project is funded by Leecliffe ‘Big Local’ with the main aim to improve community activities, so please do get involved!

As part of VegFest we will be setting up and undertaking gardening clubs at each school involved to enable pupils to learn about where our food comes from, how to grow it, as well as develop new skills as a community. We think this is an invaluable project to all participants (no matter their age!), but most of all, we hope everyone has a lot of fun.

Once again, we have 5 schools in Borehamwood getting involved in VegFest, and to keep everything fair we will give all schools the same resources and help from our team. The following schools in Borehamwood will be getting stuck in:

  • St Teresa Primary School
  • Cowley Hill Primary School
  • Parkside Community Primary
  • Woodlands Primary
  • Meryfield Primary School

So, who makes up ‘our team’? You will be supported by one of our fabulous Project Officers from Groundwork East, Laura. She will provide you with the tools and resources you need to set up your growing club, and offer advice on the best way to keep it going! You may already have seen her at your school assembly, but if not, you will get to meet her very soon.

For any further questions in anticipation for the gardening clubs and VegFest event, please do not hesitate to contact either:
